The 2023 EuCNC & 6G Summit builds on putting together two successful conferences in the area of telecommunications: EuCNC (European Conference on Networks and Communications), supported by the European Commission, and the 6G Summit, originated from the 6G Flagship programme in Finland, one of the very first in its area. The conference is sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) and the European Association on Antennas and Propagation (EurAAP), and focuses on all aspects of telecommunications ranging from 5G deployment and mobile IoT to 6G exploration and future communications systems and networks, including experimentation and testbeds, and applications and services.
EVOLVED-5G project will be there through a booth at H00-22. Also, the project will be represented by some paper presentations. Stay Tuned for more information.
This white paper describes approaches to business modelling in the context of 5G and beyond 5G ecosystems. It first explains how the disaggregated and modular 5G and beyond 5G technologies enable a dynamic business ecosystem with a higher number of interdependent actor roles, actors, and business relationships. This leads to the challenge to identify and design sustainable business models in a highly dynamic and complex business environment. The white paper proposes a methodology composed of five steps for how to carry out business modelling, catering for the perspectives of all actors.
The approach described in this white paper embraces existing insight from different analytic approaches such as the concepts of ecosystems, value networks, business and sustainability model canvassing, and the application thereof in many recent 5G projects. The projects, represented by their experts, serve as a source for inspiration and validate our stepwise model. In addition, contributors to the white paper have willingly shared insights from approaches they apply in their respective organizations. Finally, we present systematically how their business modelling is aligned with the five steps in our suggested approach.

EVOLVED-5G project co-organizes the “3rd International Workshop on Advances on Privacy Preserving Technologies and Solutions” IWAPS 2023, in the context of #ARES 2023. The ARES conference will take place in Benevento, Italy during August 29 – September 01, 2023 period.
The Call for Papers deadline is on 31st of May!
This workshop aims to strengthen security and privacy through research and relevant activities in the models and design of secure, privacy-preserving and trust architectures, investments in cyber-defense, data analyses, fusion platforms, protocols, algorithms, services, and applications for next generation systems and solutions. We especially encourage security and privacy solutions that employ innovative machine learning techniques to tackle the issues of inspecting large data volumes, cyberattacks, and variety problems that are systemic in IoT platforms, theoretical and practical challenges related to the design of privacy-preserving AI systems and algorithms and will have strong multidisciplinary components, including soliciting contributions about policy, legal issues, and societal impact of privacy and affect the cyber risk of the participating entities.
EVOLVED-5G project will be present at DEFEA 2023 through InQbit – The Q-Bit Innovation’s booth. You may learn more information about the event here: https://defea.gr/

George Makropoulos, Dimitrios Fragkos, Harilaos Koumaras (NCSR “Demokritos”, Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications), Nancy Alonistioti (Department of Informatics & Telecommunications, National and KapodistrianUniversity of Athens, Alexandros Kaloxylos (University of Peloponnese), Vaios Koumaras, Theoni Dounia, Christos Sakkas (INFOLYSiS), Dimitris Tsolkas (FOGUS), created the “5G Network Programmability Enabling Industry 4.0 Transformation”, Chapter (6), at the Industrial Applications of the Internet of Things and 5G and 6G Networks book. Modern communication technologies such as 5G and 6G and the industrial internet of things have important attributes to meet the requirements of industries, and with the rapid development of the fourth industrial revolution and beyond, it is unavoidable that these will fulfill the necessary requirements of this important part of modernization. Industrial Applications of the Internet of Things and 5G and 6G Networks ranges from the application of recently ratified communication standards, theoretical knowledge that provides tangible insight for understanding the principles of operation, design, implementation, and planning, to the outcomes from deployment of industrial projects. Covering topics such as 5G network programmability, industry policies, and optical networking technologies, this premier reference source is a valuable resource for computer scientists, IT specialists, industry consultants and professionals, business leaders, libraries, students, researchers, and academicians.
